Antigypsyism is a specific form of prejudice and racism directed against the Roma, which, in the spirit of racist theories, attributes to all members of the Roma ethnic group certain specific, mostly negative characteristics, which it identifies as hereditary, genetically or culturally conditioned. It manifests itself in dehumanisation, labelling Roma as a group as parasites, freeloaders, thieves, etc. Neglecting the socio-economic and historical causes that have led to the state in which some socially excluded, segregated Roma communities find themselves. It generalises and generalises the problems that arise in such localities of extreme poverty to all Roma.
